Show and Tell

Show and tell is a yearly tradition in my classroom that has proved to be a delightful part of Language arts class. It’s a time where students get to present objects they find special or interesting to the rest of the class. The variety of unique items and the stories associated with them fosters fun discussions. I love the creativity and excitement that I see flowing out of my students as they show and tell.

Simon Flash

My show and tell was Simon Flash, a memorization game. I picked it since it’s one of my oldest items and it’s a relief and fun when I’m bored.

It is currently 5 years, 7 months old and turning 6 in 2022. I liked introducing Simon Flash to my class.

There were a lot of items in Show and Tell that told me a lot about their culture, interests and liked objects.

All in all, it was a great experience doing show and tell for my class.

The Antique Camera

I had so much fun doing my report about an antique camera.

You see, I like history and archeology. I also like antiques. Showing off one of the odds and ends my Dad collected was thrilling for me. Everyone wanted to see and use the camera, and I think they have gained a curiosity for antiques.

Even though antiques are boring sometimes, they can show us old technologies that are sometimes better than our modern technologies.

Miss Roller

Show ‘n tell is my favorite because we get to skip language arts and because we get to see the different things our classmates bring and tell about it. I love my roller skates because I learned how to ride on them faster then expected. They can be shoes or roller skates.

A really cool thing about my skates is that they were shipped all the way from Jordan to Manitoba. And they came earlier than expected.

Something funny about these shoes is that when I went to the Forks there was a button behind my shoes which keeps it at lock and unlock. Mine was unlocked so the roller blades could go back in any time. I had ice cream with me and I fell! It was so embarrassing.

Coffee Lover

I picked my coffee set model because I personally love coffee. It is from Eritrea. My dad bought it for me. When my mom told me that the inside is made out of porcupine quills, I thought to myself, “I have to pick it”. It was broken but my mom and I fixed it.

What I enjoyed about show and tell is everybody brought something interesting. And in show and tell, everybody paid attention and liked my coffee set model. And I got to see what everybody thought about my show and tell. Everybody asked questions and I liked answering them. So that is why I love show and tell.

The Skateboarder

For show and tell, I brought my skateboard to school. I took it to class and wrote a whole report about it because my skateboard is kind of interesting and I like talking about it. I really like the fact that I could share my interests and hobbies with people at school.

Show and tell was one of my favorite reports this year, so I’m glad I got to talk about my item and share my excitement.

Miss Renee’s Grade 4 class got inspired by their fellow students and did their own Show and Tell. Check out some of their interesting items below!

Everyone has to try out Yosyas' Pop-it.

The selection of items the students had this year were unique and personal to each one. They did an outstanding job with the presentations. We all loved the excitement it added to the normal routine of school.
